Before we dive into the details, note that all three services now follow the same cut-off time of 12PM. Orders paid before 12PM are eligible for their respective delivery timeframes. Shopee sellers must scan and hand over parcels within the given timelines to stay compliant.
 

Shopee Same Day Delivery (SDD)

Same Day Delivery (SDD)  is the fastest shipping option available on the platform. It allows your customers to receive their order on the same day, as long as they place and pay for it before noon.

The delivery is handled by ShopeeFood riders, making it function more like a food courier service than typical parcel shipping. This speed is especially useful for products that cater to urgent needs or impulse purchases where fast delivery can increase conversion rates.

However, SDD isn’t suitable for all sellers. Once the buyer pays, you have just a few hours to arrange shipment and hand off the parcel. It also currently only covers certain high-density urban areas in West Malaysia, so if most of your buyers are outside these zones, this option might not even be relevant for your store.

The sellers who benefit the most from SDD tend to be those with small, high-turnover items, centralised inventory close to the buyer, and internal teams that are trained for rapid fulfillment. When used strategically, SDD can push you ahead of competitors during campaign periods or in categories where speed matters most.
 

Shopee Next Day Delivery (NDD)

Next Day Delivery (NDD) offers a middle ground, fast enough to meet modern buyer expectations, but not so fast that it disrupts your operations. Compared to SDD, NDD accommodates larger and heavier items, and is handled by SPX Express.

This makes NDD suitable for sellers who deal with mid-size items like fashion, household goods, or stationery, and want to offer fast delivery without having to deal with the pressure of 3-hour handovers.

In terms of coverage, NDD is available in most areas across West Malaysia but is still limited to same-state delivery. However, that’s often enough to cover a large portion of your buyers if you're based in key states like Selangor or Penang.

Sellers who build fulfillment SOPs around the NDD schedule often find that they can hit SLAs consistently while still managing larger volumes. This consistency helps maintain good logistics performance scores and improves your store’s ranking during Shopee campaigns.

Shopee 2-Day Delivery (2DD)

2-Day Delivery (2DD) is the most accessible and widely used option on Shopee. Unlike SDD or NDD, 2DD allows up to two working days for delivery which give you more breathing room to process orders without rushing.

It supports heavier and bulkier items (up to 30kg) and is managed by SPX Express, just like NDD. This makes it ideal for products where fast delivery is appreciated but not expected for things like furniture, home decor, larger electronics, or bundled offers.

It's especially useful for sellers outside major urban areas or those operating from a single warehouse. With 2DD, you can scale your operations more easily and reach customers throughout West Malaysia without overburdening your team.

You can use 2DD strategically post-campaign or during clearance periods, when you’re moving inventory in bulk and want to avoid performance pressure. It also works well for low-margin products where logistics cost needs to stay low.
 

Which Delivery Option Should You Choose?

Choosing the right Shopee delivery option depends on your product type, buyer location, and how fast you can fulfill orders.

Here’s how you can make the decision:

• If you sell small, urgent, fast-moving items in urban areas and can quickly prepare shipments, go with SDD.

• If you still want fast shipping but prefer a bit more time for processing, and most buyers are in the same state, NDD is your best bet.

• If your focus is coverage, product diversity, or operational stability, 2DD gives the most flexibility and scalability.
